MIAMI- Sweating Our Stuff!

ICK...YUK...ETC. Well we made it to Miami and the refuge of the air-conditioned hotel for the night.  Man it was HOT and HUMID!  I already miss the breeze off the Atlantic in Madeira.  NO kidding even with the A/C on it is so humid that after your shower you still feel like your melting. I am not a hot weather person so really appreciate the A/C. Meanwhile Donna has her sweatshirt on and is trying to not freeze to death from where I have the A/C set. When she turns blue I turn it off. Here are some parting photos for you.


Donna's Birthday dinner celebration.....No Poncha's we prefer the good Portuguese wines.  Our table was in the garden patio and the food was perfect. Thanks Dan, for buying the special dinner.

LONGGGGGG plane ride to Miami. Donna woke me up to take selfie! I was to weak and tired to protest.. Just looked at the camera and went back to sleep.


The above photo is as we flew out of Lisbon headed to Miami.  

In about 10 minutes Donna and I are headed to the Miami airport. She to catch her American Airlines flight to California and I to board Delta to Washington State. We both have about 3 hour lay overs where we change planes on the way home. It's been a wonderful trip and even more fun to have a friend along to share the adventure.     Hey Donna. If your reading the blog. I just changed my return flight to go to thr Azores. Will send you my address when I get there. Call my kids and tell them to sell everything and send me the money! I’m not coming home.

  Havoc Part #1.  Well……Creating havoc wherever we go!  Seriously,  We are simply trying to order a couple of easy sandwiches at the Miami Airport. I mean how hard can it be…..We go the the Earl of Sandwich, and get in a line. It is in front of a computerized menu board. IS THIS THE RIGHT LINE ???

Some of you are trying to read the blog with a magnifying glass. So I am trying to enlarge the type and make it darker. Not trying to be rude and shouting….just accommodating some sincere requests.  This might be the goofy segment of the flight. We started at 3:30 am and it is 7:30 pm here in Boston. We will board the Azores Airline flight in 2 hours. An hour ago I was seriously wondering if I made the wrong destination choice. It felt like I was in the wrong check in line. There were about 400 people in line to check into Icelandic Airlines next to me.  There were 40 people in my line and most of them residents returning home. Counting me I recognized 5 actual tourists. So these weird thoughts started circulating in my head. Like what if one of the volcanoes erupted and none of you emailed me about it? The islands are actually the tips of volcanoes, some still active, so don’t laugh it could happen. Did I pick the wrong time to visit or has there been some kind of military action…….

Sky Lounge Serenade by Steve Martin impersonator!

  STILL in Miami airport…..but sought refuge at the Delta Sky Lounge. Nice A/C, snacks, way to charge iPad and comfortable chairs. Pretty quiet too except for the guy sitting across from me.  A nice looking elegant older gentleman in a blue blazer top, tan pants, nice luggage and looks a lot like Steven Martin. (Is Steve Martin still alive?) Could be him?  But no mustache, could be a relative? It is very quiet here. He is focused on his cell phone…….holding it close so I know he has vision problems and refusing to wear glasses….He has a plate of salad, cheese and salami in front of him.  I can hardly keep from laughing out loud. The silence here is broken by his belching. I don’t mean once or twice, I mean about a dozen times. Not discrete little ones, loud ones that spoil his sophisticated image.  All the people around me keep looking over at him. It is suppose to be quiet in here. I already got in trouble from the Delta Sky Lounge snooty police for a cell phone call. Donna called me
