It is early morning and the balcony to my room faces the sea. The breeze is gentle as I sing into the wind. There are tears of thankfulness and my voice is choked with them. I know the sound does not matter to the Lord, He is listening to my heart. The song is called: “The Goodness of God” written by Ben Fielding and others. Here are part of the lyrics.
I love You, Lord
Oh, Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night You are close like no other I've known You as a Father
I've known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God, yeah And all my life You have been faithful, oh
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God, yeah
This moment is the main reason I came to Sao Jorge. To stand on the island where my Grandmother Vieira was born and rescued from by God. There are still many things I do not know about her life and the family she left behind. There is still more to find out. I hope to untangle the fragments of her past and understand who she really was. But this I do know, if she had not left - there would be no Kathleen standing on the balcony this morning singing into the wind.
How beautiful, glad your here my friend. Hugs
